Site Selection Analysis

We obtained information about the site selection process through a Freedom Of Information request.

People tell us all the time that the GM site (K) was their favourite for the new hospital. Well, it just didn't score well in the site selection process, which is why it's not a contender for the new hospital.

The table below shows how the GM site and the two shortlisted sites scored on each of the 32 site selection criteria. Scores of 80% and higher are highlighted in green. Scores below 50% are red.

The lowest the County Rd 42 site (N)  scored on any one criterion was 50%. As the table shows, it squeaked through on every single one of the criteria, while the GM site failed many of the criteria.

The GEM site (V) had the highest score of all the sites and passed on all criteria.

Importantly, it received the top score overall on Service Catchment Area, which is the closest the site selection process came to evaluating where the majority of users live.
