The proposed location of our new hospital, beyond the airport, is further from Windsor's core than any other municipality with more than 50,000 residents.  The location to the south of Windsor Airport will be the least accessible hospital in Ontario.  On average, in this province, the distance from the core is about 3 km.  Compare that with 12.5 km for our proposed hospital location.
Looking to the rest of the country, it's also further away than any other hospital in Canada.  The second chart compares distances for municipalities with more than 200,000 and fewer than 600,000 residents.

Worldwide, it is unclear if there are any cities who have moved their only hospital further from the core than their airport.
