John Sewell

Former Mayor of Toronto, long time Councillor, author, urban activist and Member of the Order of Canada, John Sewell, visited Windsor in February.

He spoke at two well-attended public meetings about the role that hospitals play in cities and the problems that come with consolidation and construction of “mega” facilities in Ontario.

CJAM recorded the first of his two presentations.

Or, if you're pressed for time, you can watch an 8 minute abbreviated clip below:
The week after John Sewell's visit to Windsor, he gave a similar presentation in Bracebridge, where residents are facing a proposal to consolidate the town's hospital with Huntsville, in a greenfield location between the two towns.

The text of his talk is posted at this link.
