CAMPP is an an engaged, growing group of innovative thinkers, visionaries and hard-working volunteers. We are a non-partisan, grassroots group of concerned residents.
In the end, it is public pressure that will determine the decision made regarding our hospital healthcare and the future of our community. Your voice counts. Please keep speaking out.
We care about our community and the integrity of the planning process. We worry about the threat to the County's farmland, the prospect of greater urban sprawl, and the hollowing out of thriving, established neighbourhoods.
We want our new hospital, when it is built, to be the best hospital we can expect for our region.
We are asking that the Mega-Plan be given a Re-Think.
We are concerned that the public wasn't offered enough opportunities to provide meaningful input into the planning process, in particular with regards to the impact on their neighbourhoods. Public consultation is a legally mandated part of the process, and should be inclusive for all residents, throughout the planning process.
We are also concerned that the hospital's steering committee made some major initial decisions even before the site location process began.
We invite you to join the conversation, share your vision and concerns on Facebook at
Windsor-Essex Residents for an Urban Campus Mega-Hospital.

CAMPP has identified five areas of concern regarding the proposed location of the new hospital on greenfield land on County Rd 42 at Concession 9, and the process to determine that location. These concerns are interrelated and we don't believe one is less important than the other. The way they are organized below provides an easy to remember acronym:
Access to Care - proximity to hospital services
Cost - both to the public purse and to residents' pockets
Urban Vitality that will be sacrificed by building outside the core
Transparency of the public consultation process
Environment - loss of farmland and impact of increased emissions
Windsor Hospitals Study
The Windsor Hospitals Study is a report co-authored by Dave Cooke, Teresa Piruzza and Tom Porter in 2012 endorsing a new acute care hospital to serve the Windsor-Essex region. Three central questions were asked to support their conclusion:
CAMPP is a grassroots community group assembled to ensure no plans are made without careful and thoughtful review of all potential options.
